Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Yes, our services are provided by a registered psychologist or a psychological associate supervised by a registered psychologist and these services are often eligible for coverage under insurance plans. However, as insurance policies vary, even within the same provider, we recommend contacting your insurance company directly to confirm coverage.
You may cancel your appointment by calling our office directly – 204-201-0751.
At present, we do not offer direct billing. After your session, a receipt will be emailed to you, which you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
Appointment reminders are sent two days before your scheduled session. You have until the end of that day to cancel or reschedule without incurring any fees.
Our rates are consistent with the recommended rate set out by the Manitoba Psychological Society. Currently the rate is 240.00 per 50-minutes for the initial consultation and feedback session and 240.00 per hour for testing.
The first session includes an overview of confidentiality and session guidelines, followed by the signing of a service agreement. The first session will then be focused on determining the focus of the assessment and what testing may be needed to answer the assessment question(s).
We ask that a supportive adult be present at the office while minors are participating in the assessment. We find that children/teens sometimes need breaks or to speak to a supportive adult they know. We want our clients to feel safe and safety also helps clients be present in the assessment and increases the accuracy of the tests.
We offer virtual clinical interviews and feedback sessions for clients across Manitoba. However, most standardized psychological testing must be completed in person at our Winnipeg clinic to ensure the highest level of accuracy and test integrity.
The timeline varies depending on the complexity of the assessment. Generally, once testing is complete, you can expect your feedback session and final written report within 2 to 4 weeks.
To provide the most accurate evaluation, please bring any previous assessment reports, school report cards (for children/teens), medical records related to your concerns, and a list of any current medications.
Therapy focuses on ongoing treatment and support. A Psychological Assessment is a specialized diagnostic process designed to uncover the “why” behind specific challenges. It provides the diagnosis and roadmap required to access the right therapy or medical help.
Assessment costs are based on the total time required for clinical interviews, direct testing, scoring, and report preparation. We bill by the hour, but after the first appointment you will receive a clear estimate to give an idea of the cost of the assessment.
